...good skills are those useful skills... Here I shall post any problems I'm made aware of regarding any of the Hospitality CD-ROMs. The contents of the CD-ROMs are in html, with gif images and jpeg photos. With other words all you find on the CDs is the same what you would see on web pages. I did not use Flash, Macromedia and Swish, for they ask for plug-ins. I also stayed away from using Java, applets and scripts. Such can cause restrictions, Java has to be turned on, for example. The ingredients used are strictly cross platform and therefore should work on any operating system with a web browser installed. Yet it's good possible that things go wrong and therefore I started this page to let you know about all issues as they pop up...
Have a most beautiful day now helmut s.
Known problem with the Hospitality CD-ROM #1 January-2-2001 Sent to me by shane@aptest.com Note for some reason the CD is not compatible with a Macintosh. This machine is a Mac G4 Cube running Mac OS 9. It has both Netscape 4.75 and IE 5 for the Mac. The problem is that the CD-ROM was not readable by the Macintosh. The Mac insisted that the CD be initialized.I know that the CD is ISO 9660 format, but it would not be read. I don't know why.My solution was pretty obscure. I have a Linux server at home that I use as a relay and file repository. I mounted the CD on there (RedHat Linux 6.2), then copied the whole file tree to the hard drive of the Mac.From there it works just fine.
