My husband and I
visited Germany in the late 70's...We were in Bad Nauheim, and had dinner
at a small restaurant in the one of the hotels...The name escapes me,
however the gentleman that tended the wine cellar, was the chef as
well,,,He smoked a pipe, and gave my husband his pipe when we were ready
to leave Germany for America....This fine old gentlemen wrote to us upon
our return to the home, and extended a delightful invitation for our
return...I am sorry to say, we never made it back to Germany, but his
memory will stay with us forever....If you know anyone who who knew this
dear old soul, who was from Poland and was a Polish Jew, living in Bad
Naumeim, and the restaurants name just came to mind...Hotel Astoria...I
enjoy your web site, and it is so informative....The gentlemans
