All the appetizers @ Sweet Basil are individually handmade. The tomato rosette that accompanys the "kuntok" along with the detail on each piece, has been woven by hand.

An excellent start to the meal is this very same "kuntok". Kuntok is a selection of all six hot appetizers in one dish. From there you can pick your favourites, and order accordingly. A Sweet Basil favourite among customers are the "money bags". The pandan leaf that they're rapped in, is totally edible, so don't hold back.

For something a bit hotter try the "pan sib" (white steamed rice skin dumplings filled with minced fish, herbs and a dash of palm sugar). Watch out for the chilli on top. The only cure, a swift glass of water

When you get to ordering the mains it's worth specifing how hot you like your curries. With a Thai chef at the helm, making it hot, is a natural occurrence.

If you're ordering the kari gai home-delivered mention if you want that delicious puff pastry to accompany it. For what it's worth it, it doesn't cost any extra.

A tip from the regulars @ Sweet Basil is the "pud katiam nok" (crispy quail in peppercorn & garlic sauce) mouth wateringly good!
