An optional 10% service charge will be added to all parties of 5 or more persons. Smaller tables have no service charge added.

Porters perennial bestseller, there must be a reason why! Steak in a sauce of mushrooms, tomatoes, red wine and herbs, topped with puff pastry

Fish Pie

Flaked cod, salmon and prawns, seasoned with fresh dill and parsley, in a creamy white sauce, with a cheese and potato topping

Lamb and Apricot Pie

Chopped lamb with apricots, mint and onion, topped with puff pastry

Cumberland Pie

Minced beef, carrots, onions and tomatoes, cooked with ale and herbs, with a lightly browned potato and sliced tomato topping

Chicken, Leek and Button Mushroom Pie

Diced chicken with button mushrooms and leeks, in a creamy white sauce, topped with puff pastry

Covent Garden Vegetable Pie

Lentils, kidney beans, carrots and tomatoes in a lightly curried sauce topped with puff pastry, served with a pot of yoghurt

Grilled Barbecued Butterfly Chicken Breast - £8.95

A 9oz butterfly supreme, marinated with barbecue sauce

8oz English Lamb Steak - £9.95

8oz leg of lamb steak, served with a thyme and tomato sauce (we recommend that this is served pink, should you prefer otherwise please ask)

Grilled Salmon Steak - £8.95

6oz of fillet marinated with white wine and herbs served with yoghurt and dill sauce

Fresh cod, baked in the oven with herbs and breadcrumbs, served with Tartare Sauce and jumbo chips (or a baked potato for the more health conscious) Traditionally served with mushy peas; £1.25 supplement

Homemade Braised Faggots - £8.95

Minced beef, onion, carrot and herb faggots, braised in onion and ale gravy

Pork, Leek and Sage Sausages - £8.95

Minced pork, sage, thyme, parsley and assorted spice sausages, best served with onion gravy, on a bed of either mashed potatoes or braised red cabbage. alternatively , have both for a supplement of £1.50

Devilled Kidneys - £8.95

Lambs kidneys cooked in a 'wicked' devilled sauce of mustard and Worcester sauce
